Sulforaphane is a powerful weapon against free radicals and oxidative stress. It supports cellular health, energy, detoxification, and more.
Both Moringa and Broccoli sprouts (Brassica olercaea) are nutritional powerhouses. The key health-promoting phytochemicals in moringa leaves and broccoli sprouts are glucosinolates and isothiocyanates.
Rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals, these two plants contain isothiocyanates — compounds that may prevent or improve chronic diseases like cancer, heart disease, and diabetes. Sulforaphane decreases autoimmune inflammation.
Sulforaphane increased the production of enzymes that degrade DHT. SFN increased the amount of testosterone degrading enzymes, such as 3a-HSD, in the liver, accelerated the degradation of blood DHT, and reversed the suppression of hair growth by DHT. Both moringa leaves and broccoli sprouts have anti-cancer properties and may help treat degenerative nervous system diseases.
Sulforaphane is activated when glucoraphanin comes into contact with myrosinase, a family of enzymes that play a role in the defense response of plants. We added Myrosinase is regarded as a defense-related enzyme and is capable of hydrolyzing glucosinolates into various compounds. Addition of an active source of myrosinase, such as from powdered mustard seed, to vegetables can increase the release of health beneficial isothiocyanates.
Sulforaphane may also help to prevent cancer cell growth by releasing antioxidant and detoxification enzymes that protect against carcinogens — substances that cause cancer. Studies use a concentrated form of sulforaphane, so it’s unclear whether the amounts found in fresh foods have the same effect.
WARNING:
The main side effects include digestive problems, such as gas and a bad aftertaste. (Broccoli in particular is likely to cause gas.) In addition, sulforaphane may interfere with some anti-seizure medications, including Tegretol (carbamazepin).
