Goldenrod grows in Europe, Asia, and North and South America. It flourishes in roadside ditches and fields and is often considered a weed. That is a fungus that can cause vaginal yeast infections, as well as infections in other parts of the body.
Research suggests that goldenrod may help ward off UTIs. Still, it may be most effective when combined with other herbs — including Stinging Nettle, juniper berry and horsetail herb.
