Galium aparine commonly known as Cleavers is an herbaceous annual plant from the Rubiaceae family of flowering plants. Cleavers (Galium aparine) is an herb found around the world in Europe, North America, Asia, Greenland, and Australia. It is described as an edible weed or a wildflower.
Cleavers is a lymphatic herb, a great blood cleanser, and a great skin cleanser, has diuretic properties, has anti-inflammatory properties, and is used for any "itis" (inflammatory) condition.
This herb is known as one of the best remedies for kidney and bladder troubles -especially when used with Uva Ursi, Buchu and Marshmallow Root. It is excellent for stones in the bladder.
When used as a wash for the face it helps to clear the complexion. Cleaver's herb is also said to be good in treating many skin disorders including eczema. Also used to reduce fevers and in herb blends to cleanse the blood and strengthen the liver.
Cleavers is a rather powerful diuretic, care should be taken that it is not taken where there.
